Friday 5th April, 2024 - Off to Dubai, United Arab Emirates
As I embarked on my journey to Bali, I kicked off my travel in style with the perfect airport outfit. I opted for our "Fly With Me" Tank, Cardigan, and Pants Set in Light Blue, which kept me comfortable and chic throughout my long flight. Paired with my trusty Nicole Lee USA Solid Passport Wallet in forest green and "It's Your Time" PU Leather Sling Bag, I was ready to take on the world!
After a 15-hour flight from Texas to Dubai, we finally touched down in the United Arab Emirates! 🥴 Despite the long flight, I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities provided by the airline. We were treated to three meals and a snack, along with plenty of options for in-flight entertainment. Each passenger also received a blanket, pillow, headphones, and a toiletry bag stocked with essentials like socks, an eye mask, a toothbrush, and toothpaste. I opted for the lactose-free meals, while my husband went with the standard option, and we were both impressed by the quality and taste of the food. Plus, they even provided real silverware!
While in Dubai, we made the most of our 15-hour layover by exploring the vibrant city. We took advantage of a complimentary hotel stay provided by the airline, where we enjoyed a delicious free dinner and took some time to recharge before our next flight. Eager to freshen up before our journey, I took a refreshing shower at the hotel and changed into my Island Sunset Plus Size Tie Neck Long Sleeve Slit Dress, perfect for the flight to Bali. Afterward, we headed to the Dubai Mall, the largest shopping mall in the world. Amidst the dazzling array of shops and attractions, we indulged in some souvenir shopping and captured stunning photos against the backdrop of the majestic Burj Khalifa. It was the perfect way to immerse ourselves in the vibrant energy and culture of this dynamic city before continuing on our journey to Bali.
Sunday 7th April, 2024 - Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
After a 15-hour layover in Dubai, I finally arrived in Bali and was greeted by the warm tropical breeze and stunning scenery. My first stop was Ubud, a charming town nestled amongst scenic rice paddies and steep ravines. I checked into the beautiful Alila Ubud resort, where I would be spending the next two nights.
We arrived at the Alila Ubud hotel in the middle of the night and were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink. As we entered our room, we were immediately impressed by the warm hospitality - a bowl of fresh welcome fruit and live plants adorned the room, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. After a quick shower, I changed into my Paradise Plus Size Lace Patchwork Tie Front Robe and indulged in some delicious fresh fruit. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long day of travel and prepare for the adventures that awaited us in Bali.
Monday 8th April, 2024 - Ubud Village Tour
That morning, as we stepped out onto our private balcony, we were greeted by breathtaking views of the lush green jungle below. After taking a moment to soak in the natural beauty surrounding us, I got dressed in my Day Drinking Full Size Denim Mini Skort paired with a throwback vacation top from last year's collection. The cool, comfortable outfit was perfect for a day of exploring the charming streets of Ubud and immersing ourselves in the local culture.
I wasted no time diving into the rich culture and beauty of Bali with a full-day Ubud Village Tour. From exploring the Muji Art Gallery to visiting the Museum Puri Lukisan, I was in awe of the intricate art and architecture of this vibrant village. After a day of sightseeing, I couldn't resist indulging in a little shopping at the Ubud Art Market.

In the evening, we indulged in a delightful culinary experience at the hotel restaurant, where we were treated to a delicious four-course meal. As we dined on mouthwatering dishes inspired by local Balinese cuisine, we were entertained by a mesmerizing cultural performance of the Barong dance. For the occasion, I wore my stunning Tropical Paradise Plus Size Floral Spaghetti Strap Ruffled Slit Dress, which perfectly complemented the vibrant energy of the performance and made for an unforgettable evening in Bali.
Tuesday 9th April, 2024 - Tirta Empul Water Temple
One of the highlights of my trip was a visit to the Tirta Empul Water Temple for a purification and blessing ceremony. Surrounded by the serene beauty of the temple and its sacred springs, I felt a sense of peace and tranquility wash over me. After the ceremony, I headed to Besakih Temple, known as the Mother Temple of Bali, for a glimpse into the island's rich spiritual heritage.
For our visit to the Tirta Empul Water Temple, I opted for comfort and style with my Tourist Full Size Pocketed Drawstring Wide Leg Pants paired with a simple tank top. The lightweight and breathable fabric kept me cool as we explored the sacred grounds and participated in the purification and blessing ceremony. During the ceremony we changed into traditional green sarongs and were blessed in the holy springs.
Arrive in Sanur, Bali
After a day of exploration, I made my way to Sanur, Bali's oldest developed beach area. I checked into the luxurious Swiss Bel resort Watu Jimbar, where I would be spending the next five nights.
Wednesday 10th April, 2024 - Sunrise Trekking on Batur Volcano
I kicked off my day with an early morning trek up Mount Batur to catch the sunrise over the volcanic crater. The breathtaking views were well worth the early wake-up call, and even though I couldn't make it all the way up on my own, I felt a sense of accomplishment as I watched the sun rise over the stunning Bali landscape. For our sunrise trek up Batur Volcano, I opted for comfort and flexibility, so I wore leggings and a t-shirt from the Ivy Reina Activewear Collection. The moisture-wicking fabric kept me cool and dry during the hike, allowing me to focus on enjoying the stunning views and breathtaking sunrise from the summit.
After our exhilarating trek up the volcano, we headed down to the Batur Natural Hot Spring Bali to relax and unwind. We were greeted by six warm pools nestled amidst the lush tropical landscape, offering the perfect opportunity to soothe our muscles and take in the beautiful surroundings. That evening, my husband and I enjoyed a romantic dinner for two at the hotel restaurant. We dined on a traditional Balinese meal of fried duck, rice, and some unique side dishes, savoring each delicious bite as we reflected on our amazing adventures in Bali. Thursday 11th April, 2024 - Nusa Penida Island Tour
Another day, another adventure! I hopped on a speedboat to Nusa Penida Island for a day of exploration and discovery. From the scenic views of Mount Agung to the breathtaking beauty of Broken Hill and Klingking Hill, I was blown away by the natural beauty of this idyllic island.
Our Nusa Penida Island tour was an absolute highlight of our Bali trip! As we explored the stunning beaches and breathtaking viewpoints, our driver surprised us with an impromptu photoshoot at all of the best locations on the island. With the crystal-clear waters and dramatic cliffs as our backdrop, we captured some unforgettable moments that we'll cherish forever. After getting in some great shots, we couldn't resist taking a dip in the Bali Ocean to cool off from the tropical heat. For the occasion, I wore one of the Ivy Reina plus size bikini sets paired with the Beach Vibes Cami Maxi Dress in Mocha, the perfect ensemble for a day of sun, sea, and adventure in paradise.
Friday 12th April, 2024 - Royal Temple Tour
My final full day in Bali was spent exploring the cultural treasures of the island. From the 17th-century Taman Ayun temple to the sacred monkey forest of Alas Kedaton, I was immersed in the rich history and spirituality of Bali. I ended the day with a spectacular sunset at Tanah Lot temple, a fitting end to an unforgettable journey.
Luwak Coffee Tasting
After our visit to the Royal Temple, we embarked on a unique culinary adventure at a local Luwak coffee plantation. We were fascinated as we toured the herb and coffee garden, learning about the various plants and herbs grown on the plantation. One of the highlights of the tour was getting up close and personal with a luwak, the adorable creature responsible for producing the world's most expensive coffee. We learned about the fascinating process of making Luwak coffee and even had the opportunity to sample some during a tea and coffee tasting session. It was a delightful experience, tasting the rich and aromatic flavors of the coffee and teas made from herbs grown right on the plantation.

Saturday 13th April, 2024 - Day of Return
As my time in Bali came to an end, I treated myself to a luxurious Dulux Massage at the Swiss Bel resort Watu Jimbar. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind after an action-packed week of adventure and exploration. This was a 4 hour experience for only $50 y'all! I started with a relaxing floral foot bath with a coconut foot scrub, followed by foot and leg reflexology. After that I was taken to a private room where I got a 2 hour full body massage, a scalp massage, and an exfoliating body scrub. Finally it was time for the famous Bali Flower Bath. I felt like an absolute empress bathing myself in a tub filled flowers.
My trip to Bali was truly an experience I'll never forget. From the stunning natural beauty to the rich culture and history, Bali captured my heart in more ways than I can count.
