First, we have to talk about my new favorite denim brand, Judy Blue. Every time I think about this brand I think about that Y2K song Big Booty Judy, because these jeans are not only size-inclusive but made with the big booty girls in mind. This brand cuts their jeans and shorts in sizes 1-24 or small - 3X, and they all have between 1%-5% spandex. If you hate that stiff feeling of not being able to breathe in your jeans then you’re going to absolutely love the Judy Blue brand. In fact, there’s often enough spandex for you to be able to size down in these jeans if you still want a tighter fit with all the comfort of spandex. Also, the pricing of these jeans is perfect for the quality, ranging from $50 - $70 depending on the style. 

It’s the last week of April so to wrap up my birthday month I’m going to show you some of my favorite looks from Ivy Reina and tell you all about the fit and how I wore them. Just so you can manage your expectations I am 5’3” and a size 1X, some items I’m wearing will come in full-size runs, standard sizes only, and plus sizes only. With that said let's get into these looks. 

It’s finally April and I’m excited because my birthday is in April and I’m so ready to celebrate me. This is all happening at the perfect time because we’ve got a ton of new queens to welcome into the queendom. So all month long I’ll be writing about myself and things that I enjoy and we’ll get back to the fashion in May lol. This week we’re talking about things that make me happy.

We might as well start with Jada Smith’s outfit by Jean-Paul Gaultier and his protégée Glenn Martens. Honestly, I love the look on her, she looks domineering in the long sleeve zipper bodice and feminine in the sea of green ruffles. The emerald tones of the dress also really complement her skin tone. 

To start take out a piece of paper and a pen and physically write down all of the things that you want to clean. Physically writing things down helps to commit them to memory and gives you something visual to come back to if and when you forget what’s next. With everything listed out give yourself a time frame to complete the list. You can get as detailed as to how long you want to spend on each task or as vague as giving yourself two weeks complete the entire list. As long as you have a deadline to work towards everything will work out fine. To finish off your to-do list write down a reward that you’ll gift yourself once all the tasks are complete. 

First, we have to talk about the dollar tree, now yes I know they raised their prices and I was mad too, but hear me out. We all can agree that $0.25 was not the issue it was the principal, but have you been inside lately because they're using that extra coin to upgrade their selection. I have an entire list of DIY dollar tree projects that I’m going to be doing this spring. It’s giving affordable luxury for me and I’m obsessed. 

This next don’t I actually remember hearing all of the time and I don’t know who started it, but the saying goings never mix your metals and less is more, meaning don’t wear silver and gold together and keep it simple. Here’s the thing with this, you definitely should not wear silver earrings with a gold necklace and silver bracelets. However, with the layering trend, it’s completely ok for you to wear your silver and gold necklaces by mixing different sizes and styles of chains. This will give you some freedom with your choice of earrings and allow you to do some mixing with your bracelets and rings as well. When it comes to keeping your accessories simple while simple jewelry works well for minimalists, I personally am a maximalist and I only want to use simple jewelry when I’m wearing a bold outfit. When I wear a simple outfit my accessories are stacked and bold, but it’s personal preference above all else. 

We have to start by talking about the spring 2022 color pallet. Think bright and bold, that’s the best way to describe the color pallets for the upcoming season. We’ve got beautiful jewel tones and rich pastels paired with rich neutrals continuing that 70s & Disco vibe we predicted would be trending this year. 

Hopefully, you were able to stay warm and cozy through last week’s winter weather. I know my driveway is still slightly frozen, but as long as it’s not preventing me from leaving the house I know it will melt eventually.
